Organization: Turquoise Mountain
Country: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Closing date: 16 Nov 2015

Turquoise Mountain Trust

Turquoise Mountain was established in March 2006, at the request of HRH Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, and HE the Former President of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai, with the aim of regenerating historic urban areas, renewing Afghan traditional arts and architecture, and spurring the sustainable development of the nation’s craft industry.

Turquoise Mountain is partnering with the Freer and Sackler Galleries in Washington D.C. to stage an exhibition on contemporary craft from Afghanistan, to open in March 2016.

Terms of Reference

The purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals from digital/graphic design companies for the production of digital/graphic content for Turquoise Mountain’s exhibition.

The successful candidate must carry out continual oversight and quality control of all pieces, and be available to update TMT on progress on request.

Timeline

The anticipated start date for the contract is November 23rd 2015. The successful candidate will present sample work for review and feedback, at least twice. Once finalized, content must be delivered to Turquoise Mountain Trust and the Freer-Sackler Galleries for use in exhibition. The successful candidate will be available for any amendments/repairs on request for a maximum of twelve-months after the finalization of.

Features of Exhibition Digital Content

We are looking for an “interactive map” or attractive interactive display to be produced which can be used on iPad or other tablet devices, as well as being uploadable to a website. This interactive map will allow visitors to learn about Afghanistan’s culture, its natural resources, artistic processes, and key historical sites. It should be very easy to use, attractive, and suitable for all ages. The content of the interactive map will be populated by Turquoise Mountain staff, so the software needs to be easily usable and editable by non-specialists.

Proposals

Each proposal should include:

  • Relevant experience/expertise in digital content work (especially exhibition work)
  • Estimated cost
  • Initial design ideas
  • Realistic work plan with feasible timeframes
  • CVs or the company’s profile and portfolio
  • Work methodology

A TMT committee will evaluate all proposals and will select the best company based on the above.
